STOP HB 30 from infringing on the first amendment right to free speech

We remain steadfastly opposed to all acts of antisemitism and believe that all of our Jewish communities across Georgia must be safe. However, this bill does not properly address antisemitic acts in Georgia, nor does it better protect our Jewish communities across the state. HB 30 aims to provide a formal definition for antisemitism in Georgia state law. The vague language in this bill opens for Georgians to be prosecuted for peaceful protest and voicing their opposition to the occupation of Palestine even when a hateful act is not committed.

Stop SB 132 from discriminating against immigrants and prohibiting property ownership

This legislation discriminates against migrants from several countries by prohibiting property ownership. SB 132 targets immigrant and refugee communities, impacting their abilities to equitably own land in Georgia, and violates federal law because it discriminates against individuals based on their national origin.  This further perpetuates the targeting of immigrant communities– portraying them as “outsiders” and “dangerous”–and implies that these communities cannot be trusted to participate in society in the same way that other communities are trusted to. We are deeply concerned about how this bill will impact our communities.
