The Sheriff and District Attorney races in Georgia this year, specifically in Gwinnett County, have so much at stake for our communities. Gwinnett residents deserve to have a Sheriff and District Attorney who represent our values while prioritizing the needs of all constituents, irrespective of race, creed, or immigration status.
Dear Indian American Voters of Georgia, The 2020 November General Election will be one of the most important elections of our lifetimes. This election is a historic one, and thus necessitates our participation.
Call to Action -- The 2020 Legislative Session has concluded, and we were able to stop the harmful voter suppression bill, SB 463. But your help is still needed to ask the Governor to veto HB 838 & SB 402.
HB 994 is a dangerous anti-gang legislation bill that falls in with Governor Brian Kemp’s prioritization of ending gang violence, however, it is likely to target and damage the youth by criminalizing them as adults in superior courts.
We oppose SB 463: it strips the State Election Board of their constitutional responsibility to uphold federal voting standards and places the responsibility solely on local counties and municipalities.
Medicaid was implemented in 1967, providing Georgia’s low-income resident’s healthcare, which can include members of the AAPI community.
We strongly oppose HB 1083, which prevents local law enforcement and local municipalities from implementing policies that fit their community’s needs.
On Monday, April 20th, Governor Brian Kemp announced his decision to reopen the state of Georgia for business.
