About ShANA V. White (SHe/Her):

Shana V. White is a third-generation teacher with over 19 years of experience working in K-12 education, the bulk of her time working within Gwinnett County Public Schools. She was born and raised in Decatur, Georgia and has lived in Duluth, Georgia since 2006. She currently serves as the Director of Computer Science Equity Initiative at the Kapor Center. She works to support K-12 teachers, students, and schools across the country in establishing quality equitable computer science instruction and pedagogy.

Why We’re Endorsing:

Shana believes that it’s time that an educator with K-12 pedagogy experience and instructional knowledge serves on the Gwinnett County School Board to better meet the changing needs of public schools and classrooms. She supports the creation of equitable, inclusive, and quality learning environments. She is strongly invested in equity, anti-racism, and inclusivity for all historically marginalized people within schools. Shana will fight for students’ access to accurate, diverse historical truths in their classes and curriculum. She will work to meet the diverse needs of all Gwinnett County Students.
